Born in western Massachusetts in 1974, Quentin has been a hands-on designer and builder from a very early age. In 1996 he completed an engineering degree at Cornell University. His interest in architecture and furniture developed while a Peace Corps volunteer in the Dominican Republic, where he furnished his own small house with basic hand tools. Intrigued by this simple exercise in interior design, he decided to pursue this work professionally.
Upon returning to the US, he began a job as an architectural woodworker in 2000 in a well-known Boston shop. He later continued his training in Rhode Island with renowned furniture maker Hank Gilpin. In Gilpin's studio, he learned fundamentals of furniture design, construction, and history, and began to develop his own pieces. He has furthered his education with coursework at the Rhode Island School of Design and the Massachusetts College of Art.
Combining creativity and business, Quentin has founded Infusion Furniture to produce high quality, innovative furniture and house wares. He thrives on the challenge of being a designer, builder, and business owner. The range of skills and tasks required, everything from sharpening tools to drawing to marketing, makes each day unique. With several years of experience in other workshops, he is now realizing his own vision for modern furniture.
When not designing furniture, Quentin can often be found creating in the kitchen or at his piano.
